Interesting to know. Have you reported such bugs to the Ubuntu project? I'm myself considering to move from Debian to Ubuntu because the Debian project is now accepting non-free software in main, Debian is no longer focused on Free Software[1] and at least Ubuntu take care of end-users ("it just works").
