[Caml-list] strange complier messages

Is it ok for a compiler to emit such messages:

   Error: This expression has type ex#0 but an expression was expected of type
            ex#0
          The type constructor ex#0 would escape its scope

or maybe this is a bug? I'm not sure... 

P.S. ocaml 4.00.1.

This is not a bug in the type-checker: the error messages are correct
but badly formulated and confusing. This is discussing in the
