These were/are some of the goals of Jocaml
(http://pauillac.inria.fr/jocaml/).

Unfortunately, the version of Jocaml available is based on an old
version of Ocaml (1.07) and the development has stalled for the
moment.

What kind of multithreading features do you need?  It would be
interesting to understand what would be useful in Ocaml, especially
from people who have worked with Erlang, for example.
