CATNIP is a scientific network between the University of Aberdeen, the University of Edinburgh and the University of Strathclyde, funded by the Isaac Newton Institute. It is focused on category theory, both in its foundational aspects and in its interactions with computer science and with other areas of mathematics, such as topology, algebra, mathematical physics and applied mathematics. * Scientific talks are widely accessible: relevant background material is provided beforehand, and motivation is emphasised. Interacting with people outside your specific research area is encouraged. * Early career researchers count: they can gain research advice, peer interaction, and informal mentoring, in an open and low-pressure environment. * Minorities are supported: we are strongly committed to supporting underrepresented groups, including women. Funding is available to take away obstacles such as childcare, unusual accommodation needs, or audio-visual accessibility tools.
