Several recent examples suggest a reminder of the requirement that
senders use *text-only* for posts to the categories mailing list.

Moreover, from today this requirement will be *strictly* enforced. At most
one warning will be sent to a poster, and warnings already sent will not
be repeated. Therefore, if a post you send does not appear in a reasonable
time, you should assume that it has been discarded. You may resend your
message, ensuring it is text.

This note is an opportunity to quote another part of the list policy:
"The subject of this mailing list is *category theory*. Items on another
subject may be posted if judged by the moderator to be of interest to the
list. Discussion of such posts is excluded."

Thanks for your cooperation,
Bob Rosebrugh

   Hello All,

I'd appreciate very much if you could point me to the origins or genesis
of the notion [and practice] of identifying objects with [their
corresponding] identity maps.

Thank you,
posina
