In addition to an invited lecture by Bill, there will be c= ontributed half-hour talks in his honor as well as in other areas of catego= ry theory. A preliminary announcement for the conference follows: UNION COLLEGE MATHEMATICS CONFERENCE Schenectady, New York Saturday and Sunday October 19 - October 20, 2013 This is a preliminary announcement for the fourteenth Union College Mathema= tics Conference. This year the conference topics are algebraic topology, c= ategory theory, commutative algebra, differential geometry, and statistics. In addition to invited lectures, there will also be shorter contributed tal= ks in parallel sessions. Anyone interested in giving such a talk should con= tact one of the organizers. The meeting will begin with an evening reception on Friday, October 18, and= end on Sunday afternoon.
