*Higher Structures Lisbon (deformation theory, operads, higher categories
developments & applications)*
Instituto Superior Técnico, Lisbon, 24-27 July 2017
The aim of this meeting is to stimulate interaction between people, who are
working in higher structures interpreted in the broad sense (to mean higher
stacks, L∞- and A∞-algebras, Batalin–Vilkovisky algebras, higher category
theory, operad theory and related areas). Such flavours of higher structures
have appeared in
differential geometry (non-abelian and higher gerbes),
rational homotopy theory,
algebraic topology (string structures, extended topological quantum field
theories),
persistent homology,
and have found a number of applications in mathematical physics, such as
higher gauge theory,
topological quantum field theory, possibly with defects,
homological methods in quantum field theory,
strings and branes,
topological phases of matter,
among others.
On behalf of the organising committee:
Aleksandar Miković (GFM/Universidade de Lisboa, Universidade Lusófona)
Benjamin Alarcón Heredia (CMA/Universidade Nova de Lisboa)
Björn Gohla (GFM/Universidade de Lisboa)
John Huerta (CAMGSD/Universidade de Lisboa)
João Faria Martins (University of Leeds)
Roger Picken (CAMGSD/Universidade de Lisboa)

Kind regards,
Björn Gohla
