Dear Colleagues,
a new book on higher category theory has just appeared with Springer:
S. Paoli, Simplicial Methods for Higher Categories: Segal-Type Models of Weak n-Categories, Algebra and Applications 26, Springer 2019
https://www.springer.com/gb/book/9783030056735<https://eur03.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.springer.com%2Fgb%2Fbook%2F9783030056735&data=02%7C01%7Csp424%40leicester.ac.uk%7Ce869b44f0316479a65db08d6f8a9bfd7%7Caebecd6a31d44b0195ce8274afe853d9%7C0%7C0%7C636969805281563989&sdata=08lejPwWXU2Yc86EpYrkPLHiWeocARAeLnMfw5%2F%2F1hs%3D&reserved=0>
This is a research monograph introducing a new model of higher categories, called weakly globular n-fold categories, and proving its equivalence with the Tamsamani-Simpson model. The book also contains an introduction to higher category theory and a detailed background chapter on multi-simplicial techniques, rendering the material relatively self-contained and accessible to researchers entering the area. I hope the book will be of interest both to category theorists and algebraic topologists.
Best wishes,
Simona.
