Applications for the Applied Category Theory 2022 Adjoint School are now open!

This is the fifth edition of the research school adjoint to the Applied Category Theory annual conference.

The Adjoint School aims to

   * Foster an open-hearted and open-minded environment where new applied category theorists develop the skills of research,

   * Welcome new researchers into cutting-edge research programs in applied category theory, and

   * Grow and strengthen the applied category theory community.

The school has two components: a reading component, where participants read papers and meet virtually to present on them over the course of a few months (February to June), and a research component where participants meet with established researchers to work on a project together during the week of July 11-15 hosted at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow (UK). Please note that this meeting might be hybrid depending on the pandemic situation.

This year’s mentors and research projects are:

   * Spencer Breiner and Joe Moeller - Compositional Thermodynamics

   * Paige North - Fuzzy Type Theory for Opinion Dynamics

   * Nicoletta Sabadini - A Compositional Theory of Timed and Probabilistic Processes: CospanSpan(Graph)

   * Filippo Bonchi - Algebraic Structures in Logic and Relations

We will consider advanced undergraduates, PhD students, post-docs, as well as people working outside of academia. Members of groups which are underrepresented in the mathematics and computer science communities are especially encouraged to apply.

Application deadline: Saturday, January 29, 2022.

Thanks from the organizers,

Angeline Aguinaldo, Elena Di Lavore, David Jaz Myers, and Sophie Libkind.
