Gargnano del Garda, Italy, 26-30 April 2022

-----------------------------------------------------

Despite the high level of uncertainty determined by the pandemic worldwide, we are organizing the Fifth Workshop on Categorical Algebra:

CatAlg2022 -Recent developments and future perspectives-

that will take place in Gargnano (Garda lake), April 26th-30th, 2022.
Once again, we would like to have a true "workshop", with only a few invited talks and some time for informal discussions.

The Main Speakers are:

Jiří Adámek (Technische Universität Braunschweig and Czech Technical University)
Sandra Mantovani (Università degli Studi di Milano)
Tim Van der Linden (Université Catholique de Louvain).

They will give a 2 hours talk.

Besides, the Scientific Committee invited as speakers:

Alessandro Ardizzoni (Università degli Studi di Torino)
Carmelo Antonio Finocchiaro (Università degli Studi di Catania)
Dirk Hofmann (Universidade de Aveiro)
Pierre-Alain Jacqmin (Université Catholique de Louvain)
Vincenzo Marra (Università degli Studi di Milano)
Giuseppe Rosolini (Università degli Studi di Genova)
Florence Sterck (Université Catholique de Louvain).

Walter Tholen (York University) will give the conclusive talk.
All of them have confirmed their presence, covid restrictions permitting.

Although there will be no other scheduled talk, there will be a poster session to present and discuss results and investigations in categorical algebra. Moreover, the conference dinner will be a happy occasion to celebrate Maria Manuel Clementino's 60th birthday.

The workshop will start with a welcome buffet or dinner (depending on the covid situation) on Tuesday April 26th, in the late afternoon. Talks are scheduled from Wednesday April 27th, in the morning, till Saturday April 30th, around noon.

CatAlg2022 will take place in Palazzo Feltrinelli, where there will be also arranged lunches for all participants (included in the conference fee of approx. €145).

Palazzo Feltrinelli provides accommodation facilities in the main building and in the nearby annex Casa Bertolini ONLY for the four nights April 26th-30th at a reasonable price (€25-€35 per night, approx., breakfast included). Please notice that the number of rooms in palazzo Feltrinelli or casa Bertolini is limited, so it would be better to contact us soon if you are interested in booking one. Accommodation for an accompanying person at Palazzo Feltrinelli or Casa Bertolini will be taken into account, if possible. Moreover, some hotels which are very close to the conference venue offer any level of comfort and fares.

In case you are interested in attending CATALG2022, as we hope, please fill the online form you can find at the webpage
https://sites.google.com/view/catalg2022/registration

The registration will be open until March 31st.

If you have any question, please contact us at CategoricalAlgebra@gmail.com

Looking forward to seeing you in Gargnano,
the Organizing Committee
(Alan Cigoli, Giuseppe Metere, Andrea Montoli, Jorge Picado)
