The Organizing Committee Beppe Metere (Universita' di Palermo) Luca Spada (Universita' di Salerno) Tim Van der Linden (Universite' catholique de Louvain) =========================================================== Important notice. =========================================================== Although in principle it could be possible for participants to be based in Palermo city centre while attending the conference in Terrasini, in practice, unless you have a private car, this is not advisable at all. Indeed, there are not many Palermo-Terrasini connections during the day, even fewer at night. If you wish to find accommodation in Terrasini, please do not wait too long. There are several B&B's in town, however in September it is touristic season in Sicily, and you might find the best or more affordable accommodations already booked. =========================================================== Info on the location. =========================================================== The conference will take place in the historical site of Palazzo d'Aumale, facing the sea front, in the centre of Terrasini. The building was built in the XIX century under Don Vincenzo Grifeo, Prince of Partanna and Duke of Floridia. Then it was acquired by the Duke of Aumale (hence the name), the fifth son of King Louis-Philippe I of the French, to be used as a wine warehouse. Since 2001, Palazzo d'Aumale has housed some collections of archaeological and ethno-anthropological interest. Terrasini is a small pretty village close to the beach, five minutes away from Palermo airport. Please consider that this is a popular tourist destination: we strongly recommend participants to book their accommodation in advance. Some suggestions can be found on the conference website.
