Hello,
I wanted to install cgit on Backtrack Linux, during the process it turned
out that the GIT_URL variable in the Makefile isn't correct anymore, now it
should be
GIT_URL =
http://download.openpkg.org/components/cache/git/git-$(GIT_VER).tar.gz and
thus to decompress it *tar -xjf* becomes *tar -xzf.*

In my opinion, http://git-core.googlecode.com/files/git-$(GIT_VER).tar.gz
should be used instead, since it seems to be the official location.

The oldest download on googlecode seems to be 1.7.6.4 (we currently
need 1.7.4), so for now I'll simply link to
http://hjemli.net/git/git/snapshot/git-1.7.4.tar.bz2.
