I'd forgotten about that. I think my views there are still solid: We either use the hack from the manpage (which is what Brad's patch does), or, so that we don't have to make compatibility infrastructure, we simply work around this function so that we don't need it. Seeing as it's only used in one place, I dont think this will be a problem. I'll gladly accept a patch that fixes that.
