Subject: fetching old articles [sgnus0.14]
Date: Wed, 22 Nov 1995 11:05:44 +0100	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <"nz11.rz.un.149:22.11.95.10.07.58"@rz.uni-karlsruhe.de> (raw)

(Using XEmacs 19.13:)
I use the following in my .emacs witch worked like a charm with
gnus-5.0.12 and does not work anymore with sgnus (from 0.10 to 0.14 at
least)(it does nothing)

(setq gnus-fetch-old-headers t)
(setq gnus-summary-make-false-root 'dummy)

Has the inteface changed (I did not find anything in the docs) ?

Some other glitches:
`A A' (gnus-group-list-active) does not work, it breaks with

	Wrong type argument: number-or-marker-p nil

Highlighting of groupnames does not work if all killed groups are
listed (via A k)

Where is the gnus-logo? :-)

Customising of score files almost works, only the highlighting of the
sections where you can use [ins] or [del] does not work properly (it
always highlights the whole section) and the menu to choose the entry
does not pop up.

What should `Z R' (gnus-summary-reselect-current-group) do? Does it
really do anything?

Some suggestions:

The functions you can use in the summary buffer under
	[Article]-[Hide]-*
seem to be IMHO not very useful. At least they should toggle the
action they make. Better than that, they should preserve their state
for all articles. So you can have a default set in your
.gnus or .emacs (or via customise, if your Emacs supports this) and
still change the behaviour during a session.

The same for [Article]-[Highlight]-* and maybe also for (some?) of
             [Article]-[Filter]-*
