I have the same problem as Steinar here with oort 0.05 snapshot.
gnus-post-method is set to 'current.

(gnus-post-method 1 "nntp+news:hist.test") will give (nntp
"nntp-trd.uninett.no"), which is the gnus-nntp-server.  I believe it
should be returning (nntp "news") for stuff to be working.

I am at a loss on how to fix it, though.
