But we do have a law of marketing that lets us sign up on a central
opt-out list for all kinds of addressed unsolicited commercial mail, be
that e-mail, snail mail, GSM SMS, or telemarketing.  (however, I'm not
100% sure of the last one.)  If you are registered on the list, they
can't contact you unless you ask them to or you are already a customer.

Which is exactly the reason why the Norwegian legislation on this matter
isn't really doing anything useful, either.

Such a law in the US _might_ stop the US spammers, though..
