I have (add-hook 'gnus-article-prepare-hook 'gnus-article-de-quoted-unreadable) (setq gnus-strict-mime t) This only takes care of the =3D stuff, but that is sufficient for most cases. For base64 etc. I just M-t the matter over to metamail.
