Are these > supported under the Gnu Emacs side of things? Images do not work _at all_ under GNU Emacs, so this is futile to try and port. Should definitely be in the XEmacs section of code though. Are you relying on XFace support being compiled in, or can you use facetoicon|icontoxbm filters as well like highlight-headers? Would be nice if this wasn't just relegated to XFace as well. If I put an X-GIF or something in there, would be cool to have it show up. XEmacs 19.14 will have built in GIF, JPEG, and PNG support as well, so it wouldn't even be slow for most users. :) The redisplay code from XEmacs has been signed over to the FSF, so this will be possible as soon as that is merged in, but right now there is nobody to work on it.
