I just had a look at my .newsrc.eld and found:
...
(setq gnus-format-specs '((version . "19.30.2") (version . "19.30.2") (version . "19.30.2") (version . "19.30.2") (version . "19.30.2") (version . "19.30.2") (version . "19.30.2") (version . "19.30.2") (version . "19.30.2") (version . "19.30.2") (version . "19.30.2") (version . "19.30.2") (version . "19.30.2") (version . "19.30.2") (version . "19.30.2") (version . "19.30.2") (version . "19.30.2") (version . "19.30.2") (version . "19.30.2") (version . "19.30.2") (version . "19.30.2") (version . "19.30.2") (version . "19.30.2") (version . "19.30.2") (version . "19.30.2") (version . "19.30.2") (version . "19.30.2") (version . "19.30.2") (version . "19.30.2") ....
I think this expression could be optimized.
