when I exit a newsgroup, Emacs pops up a confusing little
dialogue, saying something like "the following characters
cannot be saved using the coding system nil", and wants me
to select a random meaningless symbol like "iso-3.14159".
I think this is happening when gnus tries to save an
adaptive score file that has accents in Subject or From
headers.
how do I get it to shut up?

I thought we had squashed that particular bug. Could you
`(setq debug-on-quit t)' and break when you are asked so we can see
which function is querying you?
