Wq is supposed to do so and, AFAIK, no bug is found for Emacs build-in coding-system. I know there is some problems with copying utf-8 encoded texts between buffers in Emacs. It could a bug of Emacs or Mule-UCS. Hope this won't happen in the future Unicode Emacs. ShengHuo
