Subject: A small suggestion for Gnus
Date: Fri, 10 Aug 2001 15:57:17 -0400 (EDT)	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <200108101957.PAA09453@europa.research.att.com> (raw)

I noticed that Gnus abbreviates group names in buffers
(i.e. "rec.photo.darkroom" becomes "r.p.darkroom").
In general, this behavior is nice. However, when the
last component of the group name if "moderated", the
abbreviation is less useful (i.e. "comp.lang.c.moderated"
and "comp.lang.c++.moderated" both become "c.l.c.moderated").

How about spelling out the penultimate component instead
in such cases (yielding "c.l.c.m" and "c.l.c++.m")?
