Let's see if I remember correctly (and the CVS logs may or may not
corroborate) about that time we revamped the icons. There had already
been a README that indicated where the existing (GTK) icons came from.
It had text like "The following icons are from GTK+ 2.x and GNOME 2.x.
They are not part of Emacs, but distributed and used by Emacs." but I
don't think that it had any more copyright information. I don't think I
added anything more than that. At the time, I merely updated the text to
indicate a more recent version of GNOME/GTK, and included a lot more
icons. I also added the recipe for creating PBM versions.
I vaguely remember the AUCTeX stuff, but the ChangeLog and diffs, of
course, would be authoritative.
