It depends on how you save it to file. There are coding system bugs
in gnus-output-to-file, gnus-output-to-rmail, and
gnus-output-to-mail. Therefore, please check whether test.txt contains
non-ascii characters.
I'd sent a patch to Lars 20 days ago. I hope it will be applied 0.96.
