i get the error: Wrong type argument: number-char-or-marker-p, nil

the message is displayed, but with full headers (like after pressing `t'),
and like that:

hm. what is so special in: "Date: Sat, 23 Jan 1904 19:35:34 +0100" that
makes gnus show errors?

In XEmacs, encode-time can not handle this time. I've put a patch into
Gnus, so that Gnus will ignore the error.
