I finally got Red Gnus configured to read this newsgroup off
sunsite.auc.dk, and tried to make a post.

Here's the post.

So I've got two questions.  Why did my post fail, and how do I solve the
problem about which I was posting?

Do you use topics?  Then just `T D' one of the instances.

How did you get two of them in the first place?

You don't say how the posting failed, but `C-u C-c C-c' will post
using the current select method.
