As an observer this argument you keep putting up is very weak. Not one person has offered a reason why they can not use the subset of message-mode which encompasses mail-mode. It appears, from the outside, simply ludicrous to maintain TWO suites of SW one of which is a *poorer* and less meticulous subset of the other purely because, well, - actually there have been zero usability reasons put forwards - only "because I said so" foot stomping reasons.
