I added the boolean gnus-install-group-spam-parameters; customize the
gnus-start group to see it.  Try it and let me know how it works.

Right, but the bug won't get fixed if we just ignore it.  And I have
not been able to observe it yet.  If you or anyone else with XEmacs
and group parameter trouble could see what's happening, I would
greatly appreciate it.
