I expect this has something to do with the guillemet quote, maybe the
comparison with ``delim'':
(= delim ?\«))
(I hope that came out okay; I'm copying it from a Latin-1 file to a
UTF-8 email message, and I don't know if XEmacs will do the conversion
properly.)
a21954c3 changed the source encoding of gnus-spec.el from Latin-1 to
UTF-8.
Were the involved XEmacsen (the buildbot one and yours) configured with
--with-mule? IIRC, it's not the default.
