Whenever I enter a gmane group, even if it is a group that I've entered before and for which I've done a catch-up, I get a huge number of "nntp read: xxxxk" messages. Is there a setting that I am missing that could make this more efficient. Yes, I know that I have my verbose settings turned but that is so that I can see what it's doing for so long. There is no appreciable difference when I lower the verbosity.
