Subject: MIME Message Problem
Date: 23 Sep 1999 13:40:22 -0400 [thread overview]

I am forwarding a sample of a type of email that I get fairly regularly.
When I receive it, it shows up as an "application/octet-stream" attachment and is
not visible. If I press 'C-u g' to see the complete content of the
MIME-based message, it tells me that it is base64-encoded and all I see is a
bunch of gibberish (of course). How can I easily see these attachments? In
almost all cases the attachment is simply a forwarded email that the sender
wants me to read.
I'm not sure how this email will get posted to the mailing list given that I
am forwarding the problem MIME email as a part of this message. Hopefully, I
am not going to screw anything up.
TIA!
...Jake

The NYPD, The FBI, and the CIA are all trying to prove that they are the
best at apprehending criminals. The President decides to give them a test.
He releases a rabbit into a forest and each of them has to catch it. The =
CIA goes in. They place animal informants throughout the forest.
They question all plant and mineral witnesses. After three months of
extensive investigations they conclude that rabbits do not exist.
The FBI goes in. After two weeks with no leads they burn the forest,
killing everything in it, including the rabbit, and they make no apologies.
The rabbit had it coming.
The NYPD goes in. They come out two hours later with a badly beaten bear.
The bear is yelling: "Okay! Okay! I'm a rabbit! I'm a rabbit!"
