Thanks for looking into this matter. I remember having filing a similar
bug with 23.0.60.x release but have recieved no replies.

BtW, I'm using gpg2 (GnuPG 2.0.12) for gpg.

I am also getting "Sign failed".  I am using gnus head and epg head from
fairly recently.  I use gnupg 1.4.9 with the agent from gpg2.  Typically
I can hit ^C^C again and have the message be signed and sent.  This
seems to happen more often with large messages, but small messages
sometimes fail as well.

Currently Emacs head is ahead of epg head (either on git.sourceforge.jp
and cvs.m17n.org), to stop loading it might help.  Anyway, I'll merge
the changes to epg head and make a new release when I find time.

Remote-debugging intermittent faults is too hard to be fixed in the
meantime without reporters' cooperation[1].  Can you try the recipes I
provided in that bug report (i.e. adding debug-prints, etc.)?
