Odd things with italics

Odd things with italics

I am noticing odd things with italics. The subject lines in the summary
list sometimes go italic. Why is it doing that? I can't see a pattern.

No, because it doesn't always happen in the same places.

I should mention I am using xterm, with a font:

xterm*font: -adobe-courier-*-r-*-*-24-*-*-*-*-*-*-*

It appears random, but I can reproduce it, just by reading newsgroups
for a while.

It seems to get stuck in italic mode. It displays all the headings in
the summary list in italics. Sometimes it even displays the menu items
"file, edit, options," etc in italics.

Maybe it is to do with signatures being italic?

I probably haven't noticed this before because the font I used to use
didn't display italics, not even when I wanted it to, like in your
/example/.

If you can subscribe to this group, mark all the messages as read, and
then go out to the group list and back in again so you can see the whole
thread including old articles.

Then press return on the first, and keep pressing return to scroll down
to the end of the article. Then quit and do the same on the next. The
subject lines in the summary list become italic.
