you should be able to specify the telnet program to use in
nntp-open-telnet. Some of us need to use a special prog, not just raw
'telnet'.

So, 'nntp-telnet-parameters' isn't enough? I suppose that if you had
to navigate through a proxy nntp-open-telnet wouldn't necessarily do
the right thing anyway.

Nope, I need to use 'rtelnet' instead of 'telnet', and there is no way
other than screwing with my path to do that. Bleah. Basically, I want to
read some IU specific newsgroups, even though I'm out here in seattle at a
real job. :)

Ah, I see. Upon further examination of the code I notice that the
initial "telnet" is indeed hardcoded in.

Of course, you could also define your own 'nntp-open-rtelnet' function
by copying the nntp-open-telnet function and set nntp-open-connection
to that... But in general, it would be a nice parameter to be able to
set.

I've now added variables to allow customizing this.
