        Does anyone have a suggestion for .el file MIME C-T?
        I've used this:

                Content-Type: application/octet-stream; type=emacs-lisp 

        but I'm not sure if that's the rigth one.

I use application/emacs-lisp

  Probably, but Emacs/W3 has used this for at least 4 years, and nobody has 
complained. :)

Emacs lisp is a well documented format, and should be easy to register 
with IANA:
	http://www.isi.edu/cgi-bin/iana/mediatypes.pl
