Subject: Subtleties concerning posting from the Groups buffer
Date: Tue, 31 Dec 2002 10:04:47 -0500 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <86k7hqxm9c.fsf@asfast.com> (raw)
I know that I can post from the Groups buffer ... I hit 'a', and then
enter the group name. But that doesn't do any group-specific Message
buffer initialization that would happen if I entered the group first and
initiated a post from its Summary buffer.
Is there any way I can initiate a post from the Groups buffer and have
the Message buffer come up initialized as if I initiated it from from
the Summary buffer associated with that group? ... where that group
is either an nnml or an nnspool group?
The reason I want to do this is because I have a huge number of old
articles that I am storing within certain groups, and if I want to post
from any of these groups, it takes forever to enter them. If I could
initiate the post from the Groups buffer and have the group-specific
Message buffer initialization take place, then I could avoid this large
delay.
Thanks in advance for any pointers ... and Happy New Year!
