Aha... kill-thread is a red herring. Even moving up via ^P from the line below the folded thread causes my cursor to move to the *end* of the "..." instead of staying at the beginning of the line. So it's probably a bug in the gnus-thread-hide-subtree, or maybe some other setting that needs to be set in modern emacs to get the old behavior back. Anyone else encounter this? -- Randal L.
