I wrote to early, I was able to solve the problem. In the
.newsrc-dribble file, I found several lines that looked like:
gnus-group-change-level(nil nil 9 "INBOX.saved.ace5" t)
The first two arguments were nil. I just removed these lines and now
can startup gnus just fine.
