Like others have suggested my inability to do cvs update was a dns
configuration problem.  I *finally* got my isp to straighten things
out and cvs works now for me too.

Nevertheless I think it would be good to configure the Gnus cvs server
in a way that people who have the same problem would have access like
it was before the move.
