Did something rather monumental change in the gnus codebase over the
past week? All of a sudden my nntp updates are going about twelve times
faster than they used to, and I'm not hanging anymore…

That's good, but I don't think anybody did anything special in Gnus in
that department the last week.  :-)

Yeah, I think someone accidentally unplugged one of the routers running
the Great Firewall of China, now it's more or less back the way it was.
Easy come, easy go…
