I'm using git for my emacs config, and I'd much rather be able to store my gnus config that way. The idea of running yet-another-server just for the gnus data really gives me the creeps. Managing stuff like subscriptions (which are configuration and not state data) should happen in a simple lisp file. If I subscribe to new groups I just want to be able to just push that change with git. The state of my imap groups should be taken care of by imap anyways. So what's left is the state of newsgroups and maybe BBDB. -- Philipp Haselwarter
