Those are defined as group/topic parameters in gnus.el with the default: '((".*" ((gnus-del-mark gnus-read-mark gnus-killed-mark gnus-kill-file-mark gnus-low-score-mark)))) I should really add gnus-ticked-mark to that default list, btw.
