As many of us know, Eudora is broken in that it'll carry the
References header when it makes a reply, but put the message-id into
In-Reply-To but _not_ References.  In Gnus, Eudora messages appear
one level up in a thread than they should be.

I'd like to change Gnus's threading so that it can use the In-Reply-To
message-id if it's not in References.  Anyone care to point me in the
right direction?

Ok, I haven't read the manual in too long.  nnmail-fix-eudora-headers
should work well.
