I seem to remember a long while back that this was resolved by having Gnus only look at the first x number of bytes, something like 1000 bytes. Is there anything else I can to do speed this process? Sometimes Gnus could hang for hours, if I don't stop it and edit the crash file. I have about 150 nnmail-split-fancy rules (OR'ed together), most looking like: (any "ipfilter\\(\\+.*\\)?@\\(.+\\.\\)*coombs\\.anu\\.edu\\.au" "list.ipfilter") I also have over 1000 score rules, most looking like one of these: ("@\\(.+\\.\\)*freebsd\\.\\(org\\|com\\)" nil nil r) ("Ken.*Thompson\\|ken\\(\\+.*\\)?@\\(.+\\.\\)*bell-labs\\.com" nil nil r) ("ufs\\|unix[ -]*file[ -]*system" nil nil r) BTW, I tried searching the list archive with no success. Pointers to appropriate matches would also be appreciated. Sorry about the fake From: line, trying to avoid more spam... :) Thanks. -- d
