When I used Gnus attached to a GPRS data connection, from Thailand, or when I use it that way from a bench in Melbourne over a nasty, terrible 3G connection that makes that GPRS system look fast I would also love it. Being able to delay loading of non-inline body parts would be *great* for a bunch of reasons, and a non-trivial number of those are about more mobile devices that can and frequently do run Emacs.
