I'm using gmane for my newsgroup reading but would like to read
"comp.text.tex" which isn't on their servers. Can anyone suggest
other nntp servers that will carry it and can be read in gnus
please?
I've found it on google groups at
https://groups.google.com/forum/?hl=en#!forum/comp.text.tex but
would prefer to read it in gnus.
Thanks
Sharon.

Perhaps one of these will carry comp.text.tex?
http://www.dmoz.org/Computers/Usenet/Public_News_Servers/
I googled "public usenet servers" and this was match number two.
(My ISP used to have a USENET server, but shut it down years ago. My
NNTP today is mainly done through gmane, with some groups from
news.eclipse.org (and news.opera.com while it still was alive))
Hm... Usenet4all.se looked promising (and safe), but were gone...
Match 4 on the google search may also have some useful serveres:

Just to clarify: Gmane doesn't carry _any_ usenet newsgroups¹.
Best regards,
Adam
¹ Except for some of the usenet groups that are gated (by someone else)
into a mailing list, which might then be on Gmane.

news.eternal-september.org carries it and it's free.

Thanks sivaram for this, I signed up to "eternal-september.org",
strange name! I did try "nntp.aioe.org" as suggested by Ivan but
they didn't carry as many messages in "comp.text.tex" as
eternal-september.org and as I wanted guidance on implementing
various ideas in latex, I went for eternal-september with more
messages.
Thanks
Sharon.
