Hi,

        I have gnus set up so:
--8<---------------cut here---------------start------------->8---
(setq gnus-select-method
      '(nnml ""
         (nnml-directory "~/var/spool/news/nnml/")
         (nnml-use-compressed-files t)
         (nnml-active-file "~/var/spool/news/nnml/active")
         (nnml-newsgroups-file "~/var/spool/news/nnml/newsgroups")
         ))
(setq mail-sources
      '((directory :path "~/var/spool/mail" :suffix ".spool")))
--8<---------------cut here---------------end--------------->8---

        I have my MDA drop mail into, say, ~/var/spool/mail/foo.spool.
 In the groups buffer, this produces two lines: one for foo, and one for
 nnml:foo, and they both are pointers to the same set of messages (if I
 read messages in one group, the other group has the messages marked M,
 as seen elsewhere).

        I have narrowed the problem to this setup (I commented out the
 rest of the gnusrc file, and the duplicates persisted, though I did not
 start with an empty .eld file).

        What am I doing wrong?
