I just found an email message from a cousin of mine in the SPAM folder, when checking it for false positives. I let all messages not adressed directly to me, or to a mailing list I subscribe to, "drop through" into a spam folder, which I check occasionally. His email program had in its infinite wisdom (billware...) decided to use the envelope address, instead of the From: address. And the envelope address wasn't in the list of official addresses in the filter. By your description, all TMDA confirmation messages will end up in my spam folder, and not be read until the next time
