Oh, whoops, maybe I actually am using the gnutls-cli utility... At
least:

starttls-use-gnutls --> t
starttls-gnutls-program --> "gnutls-cli"

Sorry, should have mentioned that in the first post. What does this
mean, then? It's definitely not an emacs thing?
