Sender address

Hi!

I must have broken something in my setup here, because all messages I
send get the same (unwanted) sender 'viteno@t-online.de' instead of
the one written in the From: line.  I'm not sure when exactly this
started to happen, but I'll guess around three weeks ago.

My local copy has the correct sender, but not the one sent out through
SMTP.  

Any ideas what could cause such a behaviour?

Your MTA, perhaps?  What kind of system are you using, and what MTA do
you have?

Yes, it seems to be my MTA.  I use exim here, but redirect everything
to a smarthost, at least I try to.  Alas, the router

smart_route:
    driver = manualroute
    transport = remote_smtp
    route_list = !+local_domains 212.9.160.2

doesn't seem to do what I would expect of it.

Hmm, any hints (yes, wrong list I know, but full of experts anyway
:-))?

You should probably move the domain check like this:

smart_route:
    driver = manualroute
    domains = +local_domains
    transport = remote_smtp
    route_data = 212.9.160.2

BTW: Check with "exim -bt <some email address>"

Thanks, it's working now.  I've found the error and have been reminded
that I'm a complete wacko ... the MTA hadn't even seen the messages,
I've passed it to another server through misconfiguration.

SMTP rewrite, probably. Do you use your ISP's (i.e. t-online) SMTP? Try
sending a message to yourself at localhost to assure, that's not a local
problem.

P.S. The message, I'm replying to, has the correct address (@xemacs.org).
